Pete arrived in foster in early December. He is in foster with a female lurcher and has settled in really well, quickly finding his spot on the sofa, the toy box, and the location of the treat cupboard!
He is a friendly, sweet hound who loves his walks and playtime. He walks nicely on lead, sometimes doing happy bounces when he sees other dogs. He can be a bit pully in the excitement of exploring, and in greyhound group walks has a preference for being closer to the front. But he usually settles quickly, and is happy to walk at the slower pace set by his foster sister when they're out together. He likes to say hello and/or walk past dogs he meets, he will be further tested with other breeds.
He is a curious boy who is still getting used to home life and would benefit from a home where he can carry on with his basic training. He's confident and eager to please so does pick things up quickly.
He travels well in the car, having made several car journeys over the festive period. He still needs help getting himself into the car - but as with his basic training he'll pick this up.
He's been clean in the house and has been left alone, and with the resident hound, for a couple of hours without incident. He settles quickly at night so it's likely this time alone could be built up, and his foster family will continue to work with him to do this slowly.
Pete is the sweetest hound who is adored by his foster family, but it's time for him to find his forever sofa for a lifetime of love and fun. He would suit experienced or first time guardians, and due to his size homes with older children. He has been fostered with another sighthound, but would also do well as the only boy so he could enjoy all the attention. He is very affectionate and if he catches your eye he will surely enchant you into giving him lots of head and neck scratches!
Pete is microchipped, vaccinated and neutered and comes with 5 weeks free pet insurance. He is currently in foster in West Lothian.
