Hot topic - New To Press....Daisy's visit to Royal Dick
Hi Guys
Struggled hard to find the right subject heading to bring you all in to read
Most of you will have forgotten that Daisy had an appointment today at the Royal Dick, some of you will not have forgotten...hey hooo...it has come and gone
not wanting to give you news too soon ....am dragging this on...so that you can share my experience today.......
11am arrival for an 11.15 appointment.
11.20 seen by 4th and final year student (general question time, and check up takes place, - however an emergency has come in, therefore Daisy is required back for ultra-scan at 4pm...(no point in heading home).
Giving choice to leave Daisy and collect at 5pm or return with Daisy at 3.30 pm.
I choose the 3.30 option.
How I managed to waste an entire early afternoon is beyond me! - but I did and I think I did rather well.
Daisy and I head off in the car to a petrol station which I have passed previously and knew off, the whole area is a unknown to me, so I went to where I know to find lunch - which consisted off a Bounty, egg sandwich, cola and a packet of crisps - and yes! - I ate them in that order
Later we meet up with Betty at 1pm who is a student vet, who bonded with Daisy on her early visits and biddy ins, and actually sat in her crate for an hour reading up on her study notes, rather than go the the library.
Betty and I go for a wander with Daisy in toe...and say bye bye 45mins later...
Daisy and I are back in the car again - so we head to Pets at Home (directions given by Betty) and Daisy gets new collar, and a new toy "Ducky".
We return to the vet school...with an hour still to go...so I take a wander and bump into a fella with two collies. I ask him if there is any good walkie area's as I have been in search of a park, or something similar. He kindly directed Daisy and I to a destination...fabulous...Daisy and I take a tour...
I am not proud of this - I held up the traffic on the way back....I think they thought I had an injured hound on me, not a dainty princess (which Daisy can be and plays it well)....there was snow on the footpath coming up to the road so I carried Daisy over it, otherwise Daisy would not move on.
As am reaching the pavement to cross the road, and put her down back on all fours, the traffic (on both sides) just stopped!!....OMG....I didn't dare put her down - until I had crossed the road and I was out of sight, I was so embarrassed ....they must have thought Daisy was injured in some way, and Daisy played the part well, with the look of forlorn...what a beamer.![[image]](http://www.easyfreesmileys.com/smileys/free-innocent-smileys-834.gif)
Now that I have made you read all this...you will want to know the outcome...
Well....
Vet is tremendously pleased with Daisy and Daisy doesn't have to go back ----![[image]](http://www.easyfreesmileys.com/smileys/free-happy-smileys-841.gif)
how brilliant is that?
The expression of happiness that the vet shared, at that point, in time, along with a bit of sadness, - that he won't see Daisy again will be with me forever.
Some pics from today
You can just about see her bare tum
- such a shame cos the hair was just starting to grow back and full thickness...the shaving was done for the ultrascan...on the tum...her neck also was shaved for blood test.![[image]](http://i421.photobucket.com/albums/pp293/Lassie_photo/Daisy/Daisy%20post%20final%20check%20up%20-%20yipeeee/img_2734.jpg?t=1267744032)
Not long home and I gave Daisy ducky - whom we bought together at pets at home today

Daisy is looking tired in the picture - it was a long day and she hadn't had anything to eat since 8pm the night before, and with the car journey and the carry on thereafter - with the traffic on the way home at 5pm - was not much fun.
Glad to be home

Thank you all, again, so much, for helping Daisy.

PS - The Vet School Programme is not going to be shown until April 2010 - I was updated on this via the Royal Dick, it is unknown what the delay was/is but apparently they (STV) were in to show the clips to ensure that all was ok and authorised to show etc
