Morgan came to us from an associate who had rescued him and another female greyhound from a shed where they had been locked up for 9mths, with no sunlight and only grass to lie on. Morgan is a beautiful 10yr old greyhound and Lilly is 8yrs. When they came to us they were crippled with arthritis and had to start having this treated immediately as they found it difficult to walk. No surprise really when you consider their age and the fact that they had been lying on wet grass all through the harsh winter.

Lilly is doing grand in her new home with her new owners who adore her. She shares her new home with an elderly collie gentleman and a cat in Kemnay. Morgan has also landed on his feet and his new owner Nan, recently wrote to Elaine to let her know how he is doing.

Dear Elaine,

I will try and explain what Morgan is like now, as he is an entirely different dog. He has now gone back to being a pup and his back legs don’t shake any more with arthritis, he is a beautiful dog. He likes long walks and I take him to the waste ground where he runs about. If there is another dog there he loves to play with them, he has such long legs that the other dogs can’t compete when he runs. He also loves sunbathing in the backgarden, I have a rug and a plastic sheet out there for him so he can lie in comfort, he lies down on it immediately and rolls about enjoying himself. He is reluctant to come back in the house as he loves the sun so much, I don’t know what he will do when the winter comes back in. He takes everything in and the cat next door is always teasing him but he takes it in his stride and just watches. As well as his other Duvets, he also has one in the hall but he switches between that and the sofa. He loves sitting next to me with his head on my knee, he loves me and I love him right back. He has such a loving nature.

After he goes out for his business in the morning he comes back in and goes back to bed, which suits me as being 72yrs old I don’t rush around in the mornings like I used to.

Mixed in with his dinner he also gets his treats like chicken, liver and mince. Anything I have he also gets a taste of. When he takes treats out of your hand he is so gentle and doesn’t grab.

My son visited on Mother’s Day with the grandkids and they fell in love with Morgan straight away, they have a dog of their own so they are used to animals. Morgan, at first seemed huge to my 3yr old grandson and he was a bit wary at first, but as soon as he patted him they were best friends thereafter.

Morgan has changed my life and has given me a reason to get up in the morning and look forward to each day.

Love

Nan
